About us
meldbar is made in Zurich, out of a simple observation: the automatic exchange of information is compulsory for fiduciaries, trust companies and family offices – the tools for it are not worth it.
We have worked for years where tax compliance meets software. We have seen how reports come about: in Excel, copy-pasted into the online form, with scripts nobody maintains any more, and with licences priced per user. And we have seen what happens when the portal rejects a file – three days before the deadline.
That is why meldbar is built the way it is: the rules come from the primary sources – the FTA's technical guidance and the OECD schema -, every single one is readable in the source code and covered by automated tests. The application runs in the browser, so no installation and no IT ticket is needed. And it is built so that your account data cannot technically reach us.
From the sources
Every rule cites the section of the guidance. When the FTA changes something, we change it – traceably, in the change log.
Open
The core is open source under Apache-2.0. Anyone who wants to can read along. Anyone who wants to can build on it.
Not curious
We do not want your data. No accounts, no cookies, no server. That is not a privacy policy, that is architecture.
We are a small team and say so openly. In return we answer fast, know every line of the product, and would rather promise one rule less than implement one wrongly.
