Privacy policy

This website runs without a server that processes data: it consists of static files that your browser loads and executes. Checking, building and encrypting reports happens entirely in your browser. Files you select are neither uploaded nor transmitted.

Hosting

The files are delivered through GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When a page is requested, the hosting provider may log technical access data such as IP address, time and requested file, as with any website. meldbar itself has no access to this data and keeps no logs of its own.

Cookies and analytics

No cookies are set and no analytics or tracking services are used. Your browser's local storage holds only your language, – on Chrome and Edge – the reference to your registry file and, if you enter one, your Pro licence key. The Pro package is loaded from meldbar.ch as an encrypted file and decrypted in your browser; the host sees only the retrieval of a file, as with any page load. None of this leaves your browser.

Registry file

The registry (institut.sqlite) holds the identifiers of the reports that were sent and the content of the reported accounts, so that corrections are possible. It stays exclusively with you; back it up like your other reporting data.
